Patient INFORMATION
Appointments:
- To make an appointment, contact our office on 02 6162 2741.
- Please arrive 10 - 15 minutes early for your appointment to complete any paperwork or ECG if required.
- Please bring your medicare card, Private health fund details and any old medical records you carry.
Cancelling an appointment:
- Please contact us 48 hours or more ahead if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment so that the slot can be offered to another patient, failing to do so may occur a fee.
- An alternative appointment would be organised at a more convenient time if required.
Results and Doctor Communication:
- Results and letters to the referring doctors are sent electronically within 24-48 hours. Most communication including stress test results are available on the same day and hard copies can be provided on request.
Patient Fees:
- Heart of Canberra is a Private Practice that does not bulk bill.
- When you make an appointment, the reception staff will inform you about any expected fees and charges if applicable.
- For consultation fees, the reception staff would process the payments after the appointment.
Patient PREPARATION
All patients:
- Please bring a valid referral from your general practitioners.
- Please bring your valid medicare card, health care card and DVA card with you.
- Please bring your current medication list.
For patients having Stress ECG or Stress Echocardiogram tests:
- Please wear comfortable clothes and running shoes on the day
- Please well hydrate in the morning
For patients having Holter Monitor:
- For patients having procedures, the practice will contact you directly for instructions.
- Please shower in the morning before attending appointment
- It’s important to avoid bathing, showering, swimming and applying any lotions or creams while you’re wearing the monitor.
- It’s also important to avoid Magnetic and electrical fields which may interfere with the function of the Holter monitor.
